I stopped by Red Car yesterday to learn a bit more on mobile app developmentĀ and workflow. Some of the topics discussed were the differences between Native app vs. Web app, mobile app workflow, and trends. Rain (part of Red Car) develops mobile applications. Currently, they’ve developed 14 mobile applications.
Native app vs. Web app
- Native app: is good for rich graphics, access to camera videos and photos.
- Web app: gracefully transferrs across many platforms, quick development turnaround, and HTML / Flash developers can learn easily.
What should we expect to see develop with mobile apps within the next few years?
- Tapping into developing countries
- Keyboardless (Cell phones will pack more harddrive space. No longer will someone need a laptop)
- HTML5
- Trends
